The ONLY reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the apartment itself, while small, wasn't horrible, the gym was pretty nice, the grills worked great....when they actually worked and we liked the maintenance crew; they were awesome with our dogs and they always talked to us whenever they saw us. Those are the high points.
We lived here for 2 years and in that time, cops were there almost every night, SWAT was there like 3 times, someone tried to pour water on my dog for being "on the walkway", my husband had a gun held to him and the stairs broke while I was standing on them.
There is dog poop EVERYWHERE, even made more annoying by the fact that a lot of the poop is right next to dog bag areas. Nothing is done about it despite complaints. The dog park is COVERED in poop despite there being bags, and it's never cleaned. It's used more as a bathroom than a dog park. My husband was walking our dog ON A LEASH and someone who had their dog OFF leash told him to "control your dog" and held a gun to him because of it. When my husband told the front office what happened, their response was "Okay." They CLEARLY don't care about their residents. We complained several times about people having their dogs off leash and nothing was ever done, despite having the picture proof they told us to get. And along with the pets, we saw several dogs that were on the restricted breed list.
We were told when we moved in that the hot tub would be open all year round and it was open probably a month total in 2 years. They never notify you when the pool is closed, which is often. They NEVER answer the phone. My husband called our new place like 5 times in a day and they answered every time but he HAD to call Embarc about 5 times to get them to answer one time.
You can feel your apartment shake when your neighbors move and it's super common for people to make a lot of noise after the front office is closed. Kids play outside all the time, which fine and I like seeing it, but they always leave so much garbage that they never clean up. Mold will form by the windows because of the condensation, which is really concerning. And if there's any notices about "3 days to pay or vacate" they actually tape it to your door so anyone can see it on your door or you can see it on anyone else's, when I think it should be folded and put on the clip next to the door so it's not embarrassing.
The new management is horrible and to feel like anything gets done, my husband had to reach out to the actual owners of the company. They lost several packages of ours and didn't take responsibility and a lot of the packages were for my baby. They charged us for the month after we moved out even though we signed our move out papers as well as turned in the keys, so they don't keep good records. All of the reviews about the security deposit are completely accurate.
I carried pepper spray with me whenever I was out past dark and I was scared for my dogs and my baby living here. To be honest, the best part about living here is that we got a coupon for a free pizza from Marco's Pizza and we love it and frequent it often. But I'm SO glad to be moved out.
