I have lived here a long time and enjoy it. The management has always treated me really good and I have good neighbors. I'm excited to see the new improvements and can't wait for the pool area to be open. I have nothing negative to say about Southwillow.

First of all this doesnt deserve a rating. Don't ever live here! Management is a joke! All they want is $$ and will find ways to screw you over and admit that's all they want. I cleaned my apt very well and shampooed the carpets before I moved out which it was cleaner when I moved out then when I moved in. I was told my apt smelled horrible of pets and was not cleaned. Funny thing is I don't own pets! But what do I know right? When I wanted to go over the move out sheet I was told I could come look at photos of "damages". So when I went in and talked to the assistant manager she said she would have to "upload" the photos and I needed to make a appt. They told me it would have to be Friday. When I talked to the assistant manager to see if I could see them that day she asked me who told me there were photos cause there wasn't any! LlARS!!! The apt was going to renovated after I moved out. They got new carpet but still made me pay for the old carpet. Also the time I was living there we could smell cigarette smoke coming through the vents and it was coming from the people off to the side of us on the bottom. When I called about it I was told I need to confront them and work it out with them. And yes it's a non-smoking apt and plus thats not my job. So in the end don't live here ND if you do take pics when you move out!

I have lived here for 12 years now, and I would never even consider living anywhere else!! The management, the staff, and my neighbors have all been wonderful and I couldn’t think of a better place to call home!! Having lived here so long, I have fixed my apartment up so that it looks like a home, and it is like heaven to me. I guess I'm just one of those lucky people that has found his personal refuge from the world. You will not find a more conveniently located apartment complex in the entire valley!! I would strongly recommend this complex to anyone looking for a home. You’ll know as soon as you meet the staff how great this place truly is!! I just want Darren and his maintenance personnel to get some recognition for all the work they do to keep the tenants happy. They are always cheerful and always say hello. Whenever I have a problem with anything they are always there and have gone above and beyond the call of duty. My balcony/patio that's right outside my bedroom is the best selling point ever. I've sat in my balcony late at night and in the mornings when the sun is hitting the balcony in gorgeous morning rays. It's quiet and peaceful. My other balcony located outside my living room is cozy and calming. I really love living here. If there is ever a time that management decide to turn this complex into a condo, I WILL buy mine!

Don't ever live here. We made the terrible mistake without reading the reviews. Should have known when I moved in that it was not a good idea to move there considering they wouldn't even let me see the apartment before signing the lease because it was being cleaning... and a bunch of bs. Needless to say we were desperate as we just got married. When we moved out they lost my 60 days notice. Then sent me a statement after we moved into a new place saying that we owe them 200 dollars for painting the entire walls and new blinds (which were already broken when we moved in. I even wrote it on my move in statement.) so they took all my deposit and then sent me a new statement because they found my 60 days notice and charged me for the rest of the month which was 3 weeks and charged me 2.5 times the amount of the my full months rent. So they charged me 1200 dollars for a 1 bed 1 bath to move out. I have a lawyer that is now handleing this. READ the reviews people! DO NOT MOVE HERE! Terrible management. They respond on here like they care but they don't. It's all a show.

Wish I could go zero stars. My AC broke twice over the summer. Both times it took well over a week to fix. Because they buy everything so cheap the ac will break if you turn it down past 75. My sick and dishwasher is now backed up and has been for THREE WEEKS. I've put in multiple work orders and called talked in person with the office and matinence they literally don't care. I'm not able to cook food for my family or use my dishes. Also with it being backed up there is food rotting and smelling up the whole appartment but of course the complex doesn't care it's truly awful service. Save your self the stress and money of not coming here. Not worth it. Terrible experience. I heard a knock on my door, I was just waking up so I was going to get dressed before answering the door. While doing so two employees at south willow barged into my home. One woman one man. They only knocked once before unlocking my door and coming in. I didn't even get the chance to walk to the door. I was not dressed when they came in. I was shaking for hours after. They told me that I was "moved out" and that's why they came in. I've just moved in a few weeks ago. Do not come to these appartments. They don't care for your privacy and clearly the management and employees don't communicate. Also neither of employees apologized for barging in on a teenager getting dressed

This place is TERRIBLE! do not move here. One maintenance people come into your apartment without even knocking.. they never deice the sidewalks when it snows so you almost bust your ass every time. also they have a tow company (Legacy Towing) come in and tow cars if their tags are old, even though you are in fact registered. I parked my car late on Friday night I woke up to go to work on Saturday morning at 6am. I come out to my car being gone. they said my car isn't registered and that is why it was towed.. I have proof my car is in fact registered until 09/2019 per Virginia DMV and they told me the tow company isn't open on weekends so I am suppose to wait until Monday, I also have a car seat in there for my daughter and I cant get it until Monday either so I am pretty much screwed. THIS PLACE SUCKS! OVER PRICED AND TERRIBLE ALL AROUND. DO NOT MOVE HERE!

Crooks, they'll take your money with a smile and never respond to your inquires. You'll have flooding, electric problems, ac/heater, water heater issues and these people won't do a thing to fix it.

Like many others have said, don't live here. I've lived here for 6 months and any time I've had to speak to management its been an extremely negative experience. They couldn't show me the apartment I was going to move into because it was being cleaned. When I first moved in there was a huge stain in the middle of the living room, the blinds were missing in the bedroom, the hot water lasted for 5 minutes and the sink didn't drain. I noted all of this in the move in checklist and none of the problems have been fixed. I talked to them about the checklist and they couldn't find the one I gave to them. About two weeks ago a pipe burst and made a 8' by 3' foot stain. I asked them if they could compensate me (I asked for 25 bucks off) for the trouble since I had to move out for a couple days (have a baby, was worried about mold) and they flat out told me that they don't do that and thats why i have renters insurance. Doesnt make sense. My rent has increased about 10 bucks each month for whatever reason. They use electrical heating for everything so expect you pay around 180-200 dollars for electricity every month in the winter time. When I was inquiring to move in they talked about how the jacuzzi was open year round, however they have been repairing it since I moved in. Chelise (the leasing office manager) is nice and what not but she has no say or power over anything. Everytime I've asked her about anything she just tells me that I need to ask the main manager, who isnt there or is speaking with a tenant about an issue they're having. Everytime I go in there I have to wait 5-15 minutes based off how many people are complaining. When I was first inquiring about moving in there was someone that was yelling at the office about their lease and how awful the experience has been. I should have listened to that warning sign and the reviews, but I was desperate. When I was in the office 2 weeks ago to tell them about the burst pipe a tenant screamed at me "don't live here, don't live here it's terrible!" I don't even think I've had the worst experience here, I've talked to my neighbors and read the reviews and there have been much worse stories from them. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones, and its still been terrible. Management only cares about you paying rent, the lack of sympathy for the problems you experience is depressing. If you want anything to get done, you should expect to talk to the office 2-3 times. They know people will continue to live here and will prey off the desperate, but if you care about your quality of life and want to get treated like a human, please don't live here.

Figured I'd share an experience I had while inquiring about an apartment here. I never lived here but I did inquire about a studio apartment a few years ago. The gentleman at the desk broke down the cost of everything and showed me an apartment. The apartment, by the way, was very very small. The main room of the studio was only big enough for a queen sized bed, and that would be pushing it. It looked clean, but was super cramped and all rooms (kitchen, bathroom and I think there was a small laundry room too...)were all tiny. When we got back from the tour, he told me all the fees associated with living there, and how he would waive my pet deposit, pet rent, and other various fees. I never sign anything without thinking it through and sleeping on it. When I told him that it sounded good, but I wanted to sleep on it, he got a little irritated and said something along the lines of, "if you walk out that door everything will be full price. I won't be able to do this deal again." That kind of rubbed me the wrong way. If your place is so good, why the hard sell? I would take caution before living here, read the reviews.
