First off I would like to say that the front desk staff is very friendly and willing to help but could be more knowledgeable. The Maintenance manager is phenomenal in every way. However the Office Managers themselves are awful, don't care to give you consistent answers and are changing them continuously throughout every possible problem that you have. I Heard excuse after excuse on EVERYTHING. The Manager is condescending and when you ask her a "difficult" Question that she doesn't know she automatically goes into her only defense mechanism she must have the classic Phrase "Its not my problem" because That's the only answer she was and is able to give anyone when she doesn't quite know what she's talking about. It is not just me but SEVERAL people that have experienced this.
Second off, The apartment itself was dirty when we moved in ( I Know new management than what we had when we moved in). The Apartments are extremely dark and let little to no natural light in. Overall the apartment was not bad for a first apartment. We had little to no Maintenance while we were there. EXCEPT 1 HUGE Issue that we had submitted multiple work orders for under old and NEW management, so that is not an excuse. Whoever lived there before had kicked all the doors down and the old management tried to just glue the door frame back together, leaving the door with little to no safety and even when locked you could still manage to open the door with ease. After asking the office countless amount of times and submitting multiple work orders, it took my apartment getting broken into for them to come and fix it. (I understand that old management never left them a key to our apartment however there was not even a phone call to reach out and schedule a time). The manager showed little to none concern for our apartment getting broken into however the maintenance manager did. was quick to fix it after getting broken into and apologized profusely and promised no one was getting into our apartment with ease.
Because Our apartment was broken into I no longer felt safe there and always was uneasy while there, because of this and our apartment was broken into due to a lack of maintenance getting done. She let us do a lease take over but asked us to give it a few months and see if we changed our mind. However we did not and continued with a lease take over. It was so hard to have someone take over a lease when everytime we talked to wendy the stipulations changed. Out of the entire lease takeover they ended up receiving a total of $1300.00 FOR A LEASE TAKEOVER. That's an outrageous amount for a lease takeover. They stated it was 5th avenues policy all the fees and such and when I called 5th avenue they told me that's certainly not their policy. When brought up to Wendy she responded with her famous phrase of "that's not my problem" People were in the office to hear that one. After leaving the office several of the residence stated how sorry they felt for us considering the situation and her unwillingness to work with us on anything.
They say that security patrols at night however mine, and many others cars have been broken into and had our stuff stolen.
Overall I would not live here again, ever, and I certainly don't recommend living here either. it was so hard to get someone to take over our lease and make it seem like we loved it there when in reality we hated it. Not to mention the office never answers there phone, no matter what time of day and when you walk over to the office they're usually not on the phone and just sitting at their desk. The only way id ever recommend this complex is if they got new management.
